Fireworks are used often when a holiday or special event occurs. With July 4th just happening, we wanted to inform you of some firework safety tips. Fireworks start around 18,500 fires per year, whether it be a structure fire, vehicle fire, or outside fire.
SERVPRO of West Greenville County wants nothing more than our residents to be safe while using fireworks.
Here are a few firework safety tips:
- Do not wear loose clothing while using fireworks.
- Never light fireworks indoors or near dry grass.
- Point fireworks away from people and homes.
- Stand several feet away from lit fireworks.
- Have a hose or bucket of water nearby.
- Obey all local laws regarding the use of fireworks.
